Earlier this week, Home Secretary, Amber Rudd, visited Cambridge to support James Palmer's campaign to become the Mayor of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough. The Home Secretary is one of a series of Cabinet Minister's who have visited the county to show their support for James's campaign.
Commenting upon the visit, James said:
"I was delighted that the Home Secretary was able to take down out of her extremely busy schedule to support my campaign. I have been heartened by the level of support I have received from senior members of the Government throughout the campaign.
"We discussed the importance of the Cambridge phenomenon being spread across the whole county, increasing opportunities for all. If I'm elected next month I will truly be the Mayor for the whole of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, not just one part of it.
"If successful, I look forward to working closely with senior members of the Government, such as the Home Secretary, to ensure that we get the help and support we need to thrive."
