- The Pupil Premium gives schools in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough extra funding to raise attainment for disadvantaged pupils and close the attainment gap between the most disadvantaged pupils and their peers. In 2016/17, schools in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough will receive over £28 million through the Pupil Premium (DfE, Pupil premium: allocations and conditions of grant 2016 to 2017, 26 August 2016, link ).
We are increasing funding for healthcare in the East of England – so you and your family can access world-class healthcare wherever you are.
- We are introducing more doctors and nurses for the East of England – so local people can access better health care. There are now 358 more nurses and health visitors and 1,011 midwives looking after patients in the East of England than in May 2010 (HSCIC, NHS Workforce Statistics - September 2016, Provisional statistics, September 2016, link ).
- Investing over £114 million in health research at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Leading NHS clinicians at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will benefit from new world class facilities and support services built by the five-year funding package (Department of Health Press Release, 14 September 2016, link ).
